Thomas Mann

From 1906 till 1917, famous writer Thomas Mann and his family spent their summer holidays in Bad Tölz. Thomas Mann, who thought Bad Tölz was "a place of trnaquility", wrote some of his most famous books in Bad Tölz, for example "Death in Venice" and parts of "The Magic Mountain". Nowadays, his house is privately owned but you can have a look from outside.
